Reuters’ source said Adani Aerospace and Embraer have signed a memorandum of understanding to set up a final assembly line for its regional jets in India. The Brazilian OEM opened an office in New Delhi last year. It forecasts that India will need at least 500 aircraft in the 80- to 146-seat range over the next 20 years. The producer will display two of its commercial aircraft, the E195-E2 and the E175, at the Wings India 2026 in Hyderabad starting January 28, 2026.

In separate Embraer news, the OEM aims to restore annual deliveries to pre-pandemic levels of around 100 units within the next two years and then grow further following a recent boom in orders for its regional jets, Arjan Meijer, CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, told Reuters. The plan means an increase of almost 30% in deliveries and underlying production over the next 24 months compared with last year. “The first target is to get back to 100 deliveries, but with the demand we currently have and the sales results...we’re going to probably have to go beyond that,” Meijer said. He also shared a positive outlook regarding the Pratt & Whitney Geared Turbofan engines’ issues, saying the variant used on the E2 was less prone to durability problems as opposed to the variant used on the Airbus A320neo family, because Embraer’s plane is smaller and lighter and entered service later, skirting earlier teething problems. The number of planes grounded by maintenance delays has fallen to single digits from a peak between 25 and 40, he said, adding he expected this to reach zero by the end of this year.
