Embraer’s firm order backlog stood at a record $31.6 billion at the end of the fourth quarter, up 20% from a year earlier, according to a securities filing published on January 27, 2026.

On January 27, 2026, RTX posted a higher fourth-quarter revenue and profit. RTX fourth quarter reported and adjusted sales were $24.2 billion, up 12% over the prior year. Adjusted net income of $2.1 billion was up 2% versus the prior year driven by adjusted segment operating profit growth.

Boeing and Israel’s Technion University said they were beginning to develop Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from feedstocks including green hydrogen and carbon dioxide to enable the aviation sector’s long-term growth.

RECARO Aircraft Seating is expanding its Świebodzin facility in Poland by third quarter, 2026, a part of its space2grow project. This means that the production and logistics area will double to 18,000 square metres, and office space will double to 5,000 square metres. Additionally, new technologies will be introduced to the site to enhance processes, such as an automated warehouse system for improved manufacturing times and accuracy, and intelligent space management for optimal layout and functionality within the warehouse.

In the Fourth quarter earnings call, UPS announced the retirement of its entire McDonnell Douglas MD-11 fleet, citing the acceleration of their fleet modernization plans.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) has selected Volantio’s AI-powered demand reallocation platform to unlock new revenue opportunities, optimize capacity utilization, and reward passengers for their flexibility in the post-booking window.

Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA) have entered into an agreement with the Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) for the “TEAM JAPAN Official Supportership Official Airline Special Program.” JAL and ANA will provide travel support for TEAM JAPAN competing worldwide, beginning with the upcoming Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 and continuing through the Olympic Games LA 2028 and other key competitions.

Investec Bank announced that its aviation business and funds managed by AB CarVal have launched a new commercial aviation financing platform offering innovative capital solutions to airlines and aviation leasing companies. The platform is expected to build a diversified portfolio of secured, asset-backed loans, supporting fleet funding, liquidity and broader financing needs across the global aviation sector.
