Australia sees domestic passenger traffic growth in November

Australia’s airlines flew 5.55 million domestic commercial aviation (including charter operations) passengers in November 2025, compared with 5.43 million in November 2024 (up 2.2%). Read More » This is also an increase of 1.2% on pre-COVID November 2019 passenger numbers (5.49 million), the Australian Government Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts announced. 5.20 million passengers were carried on Regular Public Transport (RPT) flights in November 2025 (excluding charter operations), an increase of 2.1% compared to November 2024. RPT traffic (RPK) increased 2.4% compared to November 2024. Capacity (ASK) increased 4.7% year-on-year. The load factor decreased from 87.0% in November 2024 to 85.2% in November 2025. The most flown route was the Melbourne-Sydney route, used by 703,840 passengers.
