Airlines cancel services out of Boston and New York routes due to weather

Cathay Pacific is among scores of airlines which have cancelled services into and out of Boston and New York due to a severe winter storm over the U.S. northeast. Read More » The storm led to thousands of flights being cancelled at both Boston and New York area airports. Cathay Pacific has provided impacted passengers the option to rebook or reroute their flights without paying any change fees. Air India said all its flights to and from New York JFK and Newark on 23 February were cancelled "in view of the safety, well-being and convenience" of its passengers and crew. Emirates Airline has cancelled six flights to Boston and New York JFK over the 22 February to 24 February period, and retimed a further four flights. "We continue to monitor the situation closely," Emirates said. Singapore Airlines (SIA) has cancelled 12 flights to New York JFK and Newark over the three-day period to February 24. "SIA will be contacting all affected customers to inform them about the flight cancellations," SIA said. "As the situation remains fluid, other SIA flights may be affected." The Star Alliance member has advised passengers to ensure their contact details included in their booking are up to date to ensure they receive updates to the status of their flights.
