Australia sees growth of domestic traffic in December

There were 5.66 million passengers carried on Australian domestic commercial aviation (including charter operations) in December 2025, compared with 5.42 million in December 2024 (up 4.6%), according to data published by the Australian Government Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts. Read More » 5.30 million passengers were carried on Regular Public Transport (RPT) flights in December 2025 (excluding charter operations), an increase of 4.0% compared to December 2024. Within the RTPs, demand (PRK) increased 3.7% year-on-year, and capacity (ASK) increased 5.3%. The industry-wide load factor decreased from 83.8% in December 2024 to 82.6% in December 2025. There were 2.17 million domestic passenger movements through regional airports, an increase of 4.4% from December 2024.
