China Eastern Airlines places order for 101 Airbus A320neo jets

China Eastern Airlines (CEA) announced that on March 25, 2026, it placed an order for 101 Airbus A320neo jets, worth US$15.8 billion according to list prices. Read More » The ordered aircraft are scheduled for delivery from 2028 to 2032, with 9 in 2028, 19 in 2029, 30 in 2030, 27 in 2031, and 16 in 2032. CEA plans to purchase the fleet with self-owned funds, loans from commercial banks, and proceeds from the issuance of bonds and other financing instruments. The airline said that during the delivery period, at least 53 A320-series aircraft will be retired due to lease maturity and aging. Therefore, the 101 aircraft purchased by CEA will serve as a replacement for some existing aircraft models.
