Singapore postpones rollout of sustainable aviation fuel levy

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) announced on March 25, 2026, that the rollout of the sustainable aviation fuel levy on travellers leaving Singapore, originally planned for April 1, 2026, will be postponed due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East affecting airlines and passengers. Read More » CAAS will not aim to introduce the levy to tickets and services sold from Oct 1 this year for flights departing from Jan 1, 2027. “Singapore remains firmly committed to aviation decarbonisation. We are taking a pragmatic pause in view of the current situation. We will continue to work closely with our aviation industry partners and monitor global developments,” Han Kok Juan, CAAS’ director-general, said.
