Japan Airlines and Cargolux expand partnership

Japan Airlines (JAL) and Cargolux Airlines will cooperate on two routes from Tokyo Narita Airport from April 1. Read More » Under the expanded partnership, JAL will add its JL airline code on Cargolux-operated freighter services between Narita and Luxembourg with 747-8F freighters. The pair will also interline on JAL’s Narita-Chicago O’Hare cargo service with 747-400F freighters operated on behalf of JAL by Kalitta Air. "With the launch of this cooperation with Cargolux, we have secured scheduled freighter space on key European routes, allowing us to build an even more robust and stable air cargo network across the vital arteries of global commerce linking Asia with both the Americas and Europe," JAL executive officer for cargo and mail, Yuichiro Kito, said. Cargolux Airlines executive vice president for commercial planning, Pierandrea Galli, said: "By combining our complementary networks and operational strengths, we can extend our reach into strategic global markets and deliver an expanded, high‑quality offering to our customers — built on the trusted standards of excellence shared by Cargolux and Japan Airlines."
