Etihad Airways plans five new Mainland China routes

Etihad Airways will start nonstop flights to Shanghai Pudong from its Abu Dhabi hub on October 1 this year, followed by new service to Chengdu (four times weekly) Guangzhou (daily), Hangzhou (five times weekly) and Shenzhen (five times weekly) in March 2027. Read More » Currently, Etihad has one nonstop route to Mainland China - a daily flight to Beijing Daxing. The airline’s Mainland China services operated as part of a joint-venture with China Eastern Airlines (CEA). "China is a strategically important market for Etihad and a key pillar of our network growth," Etihad Airways CEO, Antonoaldo Neves, said. "This expansion represents a significant increase in capacity and a clear signal of our long-term commitment to the market."
