Air India close to decision on new CEO: reports

Read More » The Reuters news agency reported current Air India chief commercial officer, Nipun Aggarwal, and Singapore Airlines (SIA) senior vice president for sales and marketing and former Vistara CEO, Vinod Kannan, were the frontrunners to replace Campbell Wilson in the top job. The identities of the other two on the shortlist were unknown. SIA is a major shareholder of Air India with a 25.1% stake, while Tata Sons holds the remaining 74.9%. Speculation regarding the potential announcement of a new CEO has grown ahead of a scheduled board meeting on Thursday (May 7). Wilson, who has been Air India CEO since 2022, announced his resignation last month after four years in the role. He is remaining at the airline until a successor is appointed.
