EASA: Thailand needs more pilots, better certification standards

Following a visit by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) last week, Thailand’s Office of Civil Aviation has told the Bangkok Post the European inspectors urged Thai authorities to speed up the training of new pilots and carefully observe procedures for operator certification. Read More »

EASA is expected to formally announce its audit findings by December 15.

In late October, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) completed another three-day inspection of Thailand’s aviation authorities after it gave them 65 days in July to take measures to correct critical omissions in its commercial aviation safety standards. The FAA will announce the re-audit results by November 27.
