Zhou would be the most senior aviation industry official to be investigated by the CCDI to date. Last week, state prosecutors announced they had ordered the arrest of Liu Xian, former deputy general manager of China Southern Airlines. The carrier’s chairman, Si Xianmin, is also under investigation for "discipline violations".
A source told WCARN.com on Tuesday that Wang Liya, director of the CAAC’s Operation Management Center, recently tendered his resignation, although it remains unclear whether Wang’s resignation was related to the graft probe at the regulator. Wang worked in the Permanent Mission of China to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal from 1998 to 2001.
