ANA and Lufthansa Group’s strengthen Japan-Europe joint-venture with addition of ITA Airways

Read More » The inclusion of ITA Airways alongside ANA and Lufthansa Group airlines Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and SWISS, was expected to be finalised during the northern hemisphere autumn season. Currently, ITA Airways serves Tokyo Haneda nonstop from its Rome Fiumicino hub, while ANA operates between Haneda and Milan Malpensa. ITA Airways is also a Lufthansa Group carrier and a member of Star Alliance alongside ANA, Austrian, Lufthansa and SWISS. “As we approach the 15th anniversary of our joint venture next year, our long-standing partnership with Lufthansa Group has allowed us to offer our passengers a seamless and high-quality travel experience between Japan and Europe,” ANA CEO, Juichi Hirasawa, said. “With ITA Airways joining us to open up the gateway to Rome, we look forward to offering travellers exceptional service and even more convenient access to Italy, Southern Europe, the Mediterranean and beyond.” ITA Airways CEO, Joerg Eberhart, said: “This agreement represents a key milestone in the international development of ITA Airways and further strengthens the airline’s connectivity to the Asia-Pacific region, an area of major strategic importance.”
