Malaysian authority said it is watching recent AirBorneo Airways flight disruptions

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) said it is monitoring the recent flight delays, cancellations and schedule changes affecting AirBorneo services across Sabah and Sarawak, which the airline has attributed to operational and maintenance-related matters. Read More » “While safety must always remain the highest priority in the operation of any flight, affected consumers must continue to be treated fairly and in accordance with the requirements of the Malaysian Aviation Consumer Protection Code 2016 (MACPC). AirBorneo is reminded to take all reasonable measures to minimize inconvenience to affected consumers and to ensure compliance with its obligations under the MACPC while maintaining the highest standards of operational safety,” CAAM said in a statement. Responding to CAAM’s note, AirBorneo said it is reviewing its maintenance and parts-supply arrangements. “Our teams are working around the clock with our partners to expedite maintenance. At the same time, we are actively reviewing our supply arrangements and seeking alternative partners where needed,” AirBorneo CEO Megat Ardian Wira Mohd Aminuddin said. “We fully understand how much our communities rely on these connections, and we are doing everything in our power to restore normal operations quickly,” he added.
