Condor to launch new Abu Dhabi-Bangkok service

German-headquartered Condor will start daily nonstop flights between Bangkok and Abu Dhabi from November 4. Read More » The route will be served with A330-900 aircraft and has been scheduled as a late night departure from Abu Dhabi and an evening departure from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi. Etihad Airways will place its EY airline code on the service. The Abu Dhabi-based Etihad will also codeshare on Condor’s yet-to-commence services from the U.A.E. capital to Berlin and Frankfurt. The pair recently signed a frequent flyer agreement which allowed Etihad Guest members to redeem miles for flights operated by Condor. “Our partnership with Condor has rapidly evolved into an important strategic relationship that is delivering value for both airlines, our guests and Abu Dhabi,” Etihad chief revenue and commercial officer, Arik De, said. “The addition of Bangkok to Condor’s growing Abu Dhabi operation marks another significant step forward, building on the upcoming Frankfurt and Berlin services and creating new opportunities for connectivity between Europe, Asia and the Middle East.” Condor commercial director, Jens Boyd, said: “Our strategic partnership with Etihad is developing very successfully and creating real added value for our guests.”
