Lion Air inaugurates international service from Kalimantan

Lion Air has commenced nonstop flights from Banjarmasin in Kalimantan province to Kuala Lumpur. Read More » The inaugural flight JT152, operated 737-900ER registration PK-LHQ, took off from Banjarmasin at 1315 local time on Monday and landed in Kuala Lumpur about 135 minutes later. The aircraft was on the ground for about two hours before operating the reciprocal JT153 back to Banjarmasin. Lion Air said it was the LCC’s first-ever international flight from Kalimantan, located on the island of Borneo. "The launch of this route represents an important milestone in strengthening international connectivity from South Kalimantan while providing more travel options for the community," Lion Air said. "Via Kuala Lumpur, passengers can seamlessly connect to more than 40 international destinations." Lion Air joins AirAsia Malaysia offering nonstop flights on the Banjarmasin-Kuala Lumpur route.
