Air India and SIA Engineering Company have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to "explore collaboration opportunities" and support the development of India as a global aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) hub, including a potential MRO joint-venture in India.
AerCap reported signing 120 lease agreements in the three months to June 30 2026. The company also completed 24 aircraft purchases and 45 aircraft sales from its owned portfolio and 10 aircraft from its managed portfolio in the three-month period.
Auckland Airport has finalised its latest master plan, which showed the airport is expected to double passenger numbers from about 19 million a year currently to about 38 million by the late 2040s. The master plan showed the airport continued to "preserve the option of a future second runway".
The International Civil Aviation Organization will hold an two-day extraordinary assembly on 19-20 November in Montreal for electing four additional member stations to its ICAO Council, increasing the size of the council from 36 to 40 members.
Royal Brunei Airlines has implemented the AMOSmobile/EXEC document maintenance platform for line maintenance and base maintenance from Swiss-AS for its A320neo and 787 fleet. "By enabling our engineering teams to carry out and record maintenance activities digitally, we are taking meaningful steps towards a more paperless and efficient maintenance environment,” Royal Brunei Airlines interim CEO, Colonel Norsuriati Haji Sharbini, said.
Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI) has announced Texel Air Australasia as the latest airline to confirm operations at Australia’s newest airport. Texel Air Australasia will operate charter air cargo services from WSI with a fleet of 737-800BCF freighters. WSI is scheduled to commence operations with cargo flights from July 26, followed by passenger services from October 25.
