Qantas Airways the top airline for punctuality in Australia in August

Australia-based Qantas Airways had 83.6% of its domestic flights arrive within 15 minutes of their schedules in August, delivering the best on-time performance for the month among the country’s major carriers. Read More » It bettered Virgin Australia (VA) on 81.1% and Jetstar Airways at 76.7%, data from Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics (BITRE) records. The best on-time performance for the reported period was recorded by regional carrier, Hinterland, with an on-time arrival rate of 95%. Hinterland topped the table for punctual departures at 97.5%, ahead of Qantas (83.9%), VA (81.7%) and Rex Airlines (78.5%). On Australia’s busiest air route by passenger numbers between Melbourne and Sydney, 81.4% of flights arrived in Sydney on-time, while the punctuality rate for flights arrivals in Melbourne from Sydney was 69.7%.
