The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) of Japan announced that it will commence the implementation of the Japan Pre-Entry Tuberculosis Screening (JPETS) program in Indonesia from November 2, 2026, as part of its efforts to strengthen tuberculosis (TB) control measures in Japan. The Japan Pre-Entry Tuberculosis Screening (JPETS) program requires individuals from designated countries who intend to enter Japan for a medium- to long-term stay to undergo a chest X-ray examination and other necessary tests at designated panel clinics before entering Japan. The screening confirms that the individual does not have active tuberculosis.
Uzbekistan Airways has selected Jiatai to supply aircraft passenger seats for its new Airbus A321neo fleet. The airline will become the launch customer for the JT220B Premium electric business-class seat.
SriLankan Engineering announced it had signed a long-term Line Maintenance Agreement with Jetstar. Under the agreement, SriLankan Engineering will provide line maintenance services for all Jetstar flights operating to Colombo (CMB), Sri Lanka.
Tigerair Taiwan has signed an MOU with Dohop announcing the official launch of its connecting flight service. The parties have launched the new “Tigerhop Connect” booking platform.
China Eastern Airlines (CEA) and Huawei Terminal announced their in-flight Wi-Fi ecosystem cooperation, involving the HarmonyOS ecosystem and mobile phone benefits. Huawei phones upgraded to HarmonyOS 7.0 can automatically authenticate when connecting to China Eastern Airlines hotspots, without installing apps or opening portal websites. The system also adapts to weak network conditions at high altitudes.
