Cathay Pacific unveils initial A350 operations

As such, B-LRA – line number 29 – is scheduled to make its commercial debut on May 1 with daily familiarization flights to Manila and six-weekly services to Taipei. From July 1, flights to Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh will commence followed by Osaka and Singapore from July 3.
Cathay intends to replace the four-class B777-300ER with the three-class A350 on the four-weekly Dusseldorf route from September 1 and fly the aircraft on the new Gatwick service to be launched on the following day. Flights to Auckland are to follow.
The Swire controlled carrier has 22 A350-900s and 26 A350-1000s on order. It is due to take delivery of twelve -900s this year and ten more in 2017. The larger -1000s will be delivered from 2018.
In other Hong Kong updates, HNA Group carrier, Hong Kong Airlines, recently announced it would convert its seasonal Hong Kong-Cairns-Gold Coast A330 service to a twice-weekly, year-round operation from April, to be up gauged to three times a week from July.
