Philippine Airlines seals deal for six A350 XWBs

Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced earlier today it had finalized a purchase agreement with Airbus for six A350-900s and six options, a confirmation of a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the airline and the French manufacturer at February’s Singapore Air Show. Read More »

The three class aircraft will operate on the flag carrier’s routes to the U.S. and facilitate its planned expansion into Europe. PAL president and COO, Jaime Bautista, said the aircraft, apart from introducing better levels of comfort for passengers, would be more efficient to operate and allow the carrier to fly non-stop between Manila and New York. Airbus has 783 firm orders for the A350 XWB from 42 customers.
