SilkAir appoints new CEO

Singapore Airlines’ (SIA’s) regional subsidiary, SilkAir, has named Foo Chai Woo as its new CEO, effective May 18, succeeding Leslie Thng, who will return to the parent carrier. Foo has been vice-president of sales and marketing at SIA since May 2014.


Report: AVIC chairman missing?

Lin Zouming, chairman of Mainland manufacturer, Aviation Industry Corp of China (AVIC), has not been seen in almost two weeks, a report in Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post citing company sources has alleged.

The source told the daily that general manager, Tan Ruiguang, has been in charge in the meantime.

Chinese media have produced various reports on Lin’s fate, with Tencent News saying the chairman was suspended pending a decision on which business unit he would chair next, while China Business Network suggested he was on sick leave, citing people with knowledge of the matter.AVIC employs more than half a million staff. It has 26 listed subsidiaries.
