Air New Zealand delays Manila launch

Auckland-based Kiwi flag carrier, Air New Zealand (Air NZ), has shelved plans to launch a new nonstop B767-300ER link between Auckland and Manila from December. Read More »

“Air New Zealand has elected to defer the launch of its direct service to the Philippine capital,” it said in a note to travel agents. “Administrative delays in being able to make the new route available for sale, coupled with the traditionally longer booking window for this market, have led to the deferral decision. The service has now been deferred until further notice.”

There are currently no direct flights from New Zealand to the Philippines. However, Philippine Airlines offers a four-weekly A320 Manila-Cairns-Auckland one-stop service.
