SIA adds “invitation-only” upgrade bidding system

An email will be sent to select KrisFlyer loyalty members customers seven days before departure, inviting them to bid for an upgrade. Minimum and maximum bidding amounts will be displayed on the page along with a “strength metre”, indicating how likely one is to receive the upgrade.
An SIA spokesperson told Orient Aviation the airline plans to gradually introduce the upgrade bidding function across its whole network, as well as for other classes of travel.
