OAG this week appointed Mark Clarkson to spearhead the company’s expansion as its new business development director for the Asia-Pacific region. Formerly OAG's London-based commercial director, Mark will be based in Singapore. Read More »

"OAG sees the Asia Pacific as a key growth region for its business, and we believe Mark is the best person to drive our development there," said John Grant, executive vice-president of OAG. "With his solid expertise and years of industry experience he will help us capitalise on an array of opportunities in an area of the world that is changing so rapidly."

Clarkson was recently appointed a member of the aviation committee of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), a not-for-profit group that plays a key leadership role in the sustainability initiatives of the region's travel industry.

Sabre adds Asia-Pacific marketing vice president

Texas-headquartered technology provider, Sabre, has named Jerome Thil vice-president of marketing for Sabre Travel Network Asia Pacific, based out of Singapore. Thil replaces Martin Symes, who will remain with Sabre until later this year when he plans to return to the UK following a 20-year stint in Asia.

He joins at a key time for Sabre, which recently announced the upcoming release of its latest merchandising platform, the New Sabre Red Workspace, scheduled for global launch next year.

Thil has held a number of senior global positions in travel distribution, most recently with Amadeus, and led the launch and acquisition of successful technology start-ups across Europe and Asia. He reports to Wade Jones, senior vice-president of marketing and strategy.
