THAI receives second A350 and runs into B787 engine trouble

On Monday, a THAI B787-8, its second latest aircraft type following the A350, encountered a right-hand Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine oil pressure issue en route from Bangkok to Brisbane which resulted in an emergency landing in Bali. Passengers reported “a very hard landing” and were accommodated in local hotels. A replacement B787 was dispatched to Denpasar, THAI told Orient Aviation, and passengers arrived in Melbourne with a delay of 38 hours.
In other Thailand updates, the government has renegotiated its bilateral air services agreement with neighbouring Laos, increasing weekly flights between the nations from 2,100 in 2016 to 14,500 going forward. The expanded agreement was to meet tourism demand and strengthen economic ties, the government said.
