Beijing relaunches state-run aviation supplier

China has established a new body to oversee the aviation supply sector, state media said on Tuesday, part of the government's ongoing reform of the state-owned enterprise (SOEs) sector. Read More »
The new firm, China Aviation Supplies, is jointly owned by five existing SOEs, including China Southern Airlines (24%); Air China parent China National Aviation Corp. (23%); China Eastern Airlines (22%); China Aviation Supplies Holding Co. (21%); and China Reform Holdings Corp. (10%).
The new company was created from a reshuffle of China Aviation Supplies Import & Export Group, a wholly owned secondary subsidiary of the China Aviation Supplies Holding Co. (CASC).
China Eastern vice general manager, Li Yangmin, is expected to act as chairman of the new entity and China Aviation Supplies Holding’s former chairman, Li Hai, will become general manager and vice-chairman.
"The new company aims to promote the efficient flow of aviation supplies assets" and "facilitate innovation", Xinhua said, without providing other details.
