Manufacturers: Boeing said on Wednesday it expects to deliver between 760 and 765 commercial aircraft in 2017, topping 748 deliveries in 2016. MRO: FL Technics Indonesia has received regulatory approvals to perform base maintenance services. It plans to perform its first ever C-Check on a Batik Air aircraft. FL Indonesia last week inked a memorandum of understanding with GMF AeroAsia concerning cooperation in aircraft maintenance, spare parts supply and component repair.

Routes: AeroMexico will launch a four-weekly Mexico City-Monterrey-Incheon B787-8 service on May 27. Air China will replace the A330-200 with the B787-9 on the Beijing-Madrid-Sao Paulo triangular service from March 26. All Nippon Airways (ANA) will launch a second daily Haneda-Jakarta B787 service on August 1. Asiana Airlines will increase frequency on the Incheon-Almaty A330-300 route from twice- to thrice-weekly commencing May 23 and it will replace the B767 with the A330 on the daily Okinawa rotation from June 20. China Eastern Airlines will add a four-weekly Kunming-Luang Prabang B737 service from March 2. Etihad Airways will increase frequency on the Abu Dhabi-Male A320 route from daily to eleven-weekly from July 1 through to September 17. Australia’s FlyCorporate will start a five-weekly Brisbane-Orange Saab 340 service on February 20. Hong Kong Airlines will terminate its twice-weekly Hong Kong-Kuching A320 single class service from February 15. Japan Airlines (JAL) will launch a daily Haneda-JFK B777-300ER service on April 1, at the same time reducing Narita-JFK from double daily to daily but adding capacity to the route by replacing the three-class B787-8 with the four-class B777-300ER. Juneyao Airlines will launch a daily Nanjing-Phuket A320 flight on March 26. Philippine Airlines (PAL) will replace its single class 414-seater A330-300 with a two-class 363-seater on the Manila-Riyadh route starting from August 15, followed by Manila-Dammam from September 15. China’s Spring Airlines will launch a thrice-weekly Harbin-Macau A320 route from February 21. Thai Airways International (THAI) will roster a daily A380 on the Suvarnabhumi-Nagoya route from March 2-25. Tianjin Airlines will add a twice-weekly Tianjin-Xian-Gatwick A330-200 flight from June 19, followed by a thrice-weekly Tianjin-Chongqing-Melbourne A330-200 route from September 27. Vietnam Airlines will replace the A321 with the A350-900 on the daily Hanoi-Haneda route beginning March 26 and it will swap the A330-200 for the A350-900 on Hanoi-Osaka from June 1. VietJet Air will add a daily Hanoi-Singapore A320 rotation launching April 27.

Technology: Japan Airlines (JAL) has signed up for Honeywell’s GoDirect Fuel Efficiency software, a tool to monitor current fuel consumption and identify opportunities for fuel savings.
