Thao increases shareholding in VietJet

VietJet Air CEO, Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, has increased her personal shareholding in the airline to 7.46%. Read More » The $84 million transaction was approved at the carrier’s annual general meeting last week. The majority of funds will be used to lease aircraft. The sale comes ahead of VietJet Air's February 23 debut on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, one of Southeast Asia’s most anticipated aviation IPOs of 2017.

VietJet operates 27 A320s and 11 A321s and has direct orders for 24 A321ceos, 31 A321neos, 42 A320neos and 100 B737 MAXs. Its Thai offshoot, Thai VietJet Air, has a fleet of three A320neos.
