Airbus to offer A330neo weight variants

Airbus has outlined five initial weight variants (WVs) for its re-engined A330-800neo and the A330-900neo, designated WV800 to WV804 for the -800 and WV900 to WV904 for the -900. Read More » The Rolls-Royce powered A330neo variants can be customized for maximum take-off weights ranging from 230-242 tons.

Airbus also has increased the seat count on the neo vis-à-vis the ceo by ten seats each as a result of Airspace modifications. The -800 will have 257 seats in a typical two-class configuration and the -900 will seat 310 passengers.

The manufacturer has been struggling to secure A330neo orders. At press time, it had 214 firm commitments, with 84 of them from Asia-Pacific carriers: AirAsia X (66) and Garuda Indonesia (14). Four of the type also were confirmed by now-defunct TransAsia Airways and are very likely to be cancelled.
