AerCap signed lease agreements for 69 aircraft, bought a further 11 and sold 25 aircraft in the first quarter. The fleet additions comprise seven A320neo, two A350s and two B787-9s. It now has 1,541 owned, managed or on-order aircraft on its books.

In other lessor updates, Singapore’s BOC Aviation this week announced a 26% increase in lease transactions during the first quarter. Through to March 31, BOC leased, purchased and sold 54 aircraft. This compares to 43 transactions in the year-ago quarter.

This year to date, BOC ordered 17 aircraft, comprising two A320ceo, two B747-8Fs and 13 B737 MAX 8s, adding to previous outstanding orders for 201 aircraft, including 74 B737 MAX 8s, 63 A320neo Family aircraft, 33 B737NG Family aircraft, 22 A320ceo Family aircraft, six A350-900s, two A330 Family aircraft and a B777-300ER.

At the end of March, BOC’s fleet comprised 257 owned and 36 managed aircraft, with an average age of 3.2 years and an average remaining lease term of 7.4 years for the owned fleet. The Robert Martin-led lessor reported a portfolio utilization of 99.3% for the first quarter.

BOC says 58.3% of its business comes from Asia-Pacific operators.

Hong Kong-headquartered China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) this week announced its order for another A320ceo, adding to two ceo orders placed earlier this month. All three ceo are scheduled for delivery in this year’s fourth quarter.

CALC says its fleet will grow to 103 by year-end. Including the new orders, CALC has outstanding commitments for 176 single aisle aircraft.
