Air India continues U.S. expansion

After announcing that flights from Delhi to Washington’s Dulles would commence on July 7 and increasing frequency to San Francisco to six-weekly, the Star Alliance member this week said the Delhi-Los Angeles route would start from September 1 and Delhi-Dallas Forth/Worth "later in 2017".
Last month, Indian media reported Air India’s board had approved plans to lease B787-9s to expand the carrier’s services to North America. At the time, the Mumbai-headquartered airline said it was considering flights to Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Vancouver and Toronto.
Air India is on a roll after staunching its haemorrhaging bottom line and also announcing several new international destinations outside the U.S. This week, airline chairman, Ashwani Lohani, said on his Facebook page that Air India would add flights to Stockholm from August 15, followed by Tel Aviv and Nairobi later this year.
