Gurgaon-headquartered Vistara has become the fourth A320neo operator in India, following Air India, GoAir and IndiGo Airlines, with the delivery of the first of seven aircraft, leased from BOC Aviation. Read More » The aircraft sports a unique A320neo Vistara star symbol livery on its underbelly.

Vistara went the way of Air India in terms of engine choice for the neo with its choice of CFM International’s LEAP-1A engine instead of Pratt & Whitney’s PW1100G.

Vistara will maintain its 158-seat three-class configuration on the A320neo: eight business class, 24 premium economy and 126 economy seats.

The Singapore Airlines-Tata Sons joint venture carrier operates 13 A320ceo on domestic routes. Vistara says the increased range of the neo will enable future international operations.

The Vistara delivery also marked the first A320neo acceptance for BOC. The Singapore-based lessor has ordered 63 neo with deliveries to run through to 2021. "We are very excited to take delivery of our first A320NEO aircraft, given the NEO's demonstrable record of fuel savings and performance improvements," said BOC Aviation CEO, Robert Martin.
