Gulf Air CEO resigns

Maher Salman Al Musallam, CEO of Bahraini flag carrier Gulf Air, resigned on Sunday. The airline did not provide a reason for his departure. Read More » Al Musallam has been with the airline for more than seven years. He spent four years as acting CEO, before being confirmed in the position in May 2016.
The Bahraini national has been credited with reducing the carrier’s debt from US$520 million when he took the top job in 2012 to US$64 million last June when the airline last reported its annual results.
Zayed Bin Rashid Alzayani, chairman of Gulf Air’s board of directors said: “On behalf of Gulf Air’s Board of Directors and the airline’s executive management team and workforce, I extend my sincerest thanks to Mr Al Musallam for his invaluable contributions and achievements delivered during his tenure with the airline. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
