Airbus leads Iran order race

Most in the industry would agree that Boeing stole the show from Airbus at this week’s Paris Air Show. Read More » Tehran-based Zagros Airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for 20 A320neo and eight A330neo in Paris and Iran Airtour also signed a MoU for 45 A320neo family aircraft for its domestic and international expansion. Both MoUs are contingent upon necessary approvals, including those from the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Airbus has sold 100 aircraft to flag carrier Iran Air, more than Boeing’s 80. However, Boeing has closed a deal with Iran Aseman Airlines for 30 firm B737 MAXs, plus purchase rights for 30 more, for delivery starting in 2022. The only major Iranian carrier that has not ordered new Airbus and Boeing jets is Mahan Air.
