The first MAX to visit the Ameco shop was Air China’s maiden B737 MAX 8, delivered to the Chinese flag carrier two weeks earlier. Air China’s first MAX plied the Beijing-Urumqi route for a week and has now been rostered on daily Beijing-Hangzhou and Beijing-Changsha rotations.
Ameco has been approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) to provide B737 MAX 8 line maintenance, scheduled checks, modifications, engine changes and APU replacement services.
Meanwhile, the Ameco Training Center has been approved by the CAAC as the first CCAR-147 training facility in China to provide B737 MAX training services at its Beijing training centre. On November 6, it launched the first B737 training course, attended by 24 mechanics.
Separately, Ameco marked another milestone this week. The MRO completed its first 8C Check on an Air China A330 at its Chengdu facility.
Ameco started A330 MRO services in 2006. The firm offers A330 total fleet care, as well as line maintenance, aircraft overhaul and painting, ARC overhaul, cabin modification, component/landing gear overhaul and engineering services.
