Airbus must deliver 109 aircraft in December to hit 2017 target

Throughout the year, Airbus has maintained its delivery target of 700-720 aircraft in 2017. Read More » With the end of the year fast approaching, this figure looks increasingly difficult to meet.

At November 30, Airbus had delivered 591 aircraft in 2017, which meant it must hand over at least 109 planes to customers in December to meet the lower end of its target range. Last month, the OEM dispatched 74 jets.

At first sight, achieving 109 deliveries in a month appears almost impossible. But then again, Airbus has become used to performing extraordinary end-of-year spurts. In December 2016, defying all the naysayers, the Toulouse-based manufacturer delivered 111 aircraft. One of the 109 aircraft to be delivered this month includes the first A350-1000 delivery - to Qatar Airways.
