“The delivery of our 250th aircraft from Boeing speaks to the close cooperation that has characterised our two companies,” said BOC Aviation CEO and managing director, Robert Martin. “Reflecting the speed with which we have achieved this milestone, it is fitting that we have delivered our 250th Boeing aircraft to a Chinese carrier, coming from the world's fastest growing major aviation market,” Martin added.
“BOC Aviation continues to be a valued partner of Boeing as an airplane customer across our product line and a financing solution provider for our customers,” said Jeremy Griffin, senior vice president at Boeing Commercial Airplanes’ global leasing arm.
BOC Aviation was Boeing's largest lessor customer by deliveries in 2017, but BOC Aviation still has more Airbus aircraft on its books. The Singapore lessor has taken delivery of 260 Airbus aircraft, with another 64 jets on order from the European OEM, for a future total of 324 jets.
Going forward, Boeing looks to become the dominant supplier to the lessor with BOC Aviation's cumulative orders for new Boeing aircraft at 352 aircraft: 296 B737 family planes, 42 B777s and six B787 aircraft. The lessor is the launch customer of the largest MAX variant.
