As part of the CFM executive team, Imbourg will be “responsible for overseeing programmes carried out by the CFM joint venture,” the engine manufacturer said.
Along with his counterpart at GE, Allen Paxson, he will also serve as the primary interface between the two companies; within SAE, Imbourg is general manager of the CFM project department.
Imbourg began his career at Snecma (now SAE) in 1998 as part of the commercial turbine design team. From 2007-10, he served as chief engineer for the PowerJet SaM146 engine, where he led the certification efforts for that programme. In early 2011, he was named head of Snecma’s ‘Continuous Improvement’ department, before returning to the engineering division as head of the design office.
From 2015 until now, he was LEAP programme director within SAE’s commercial engine division.
