Spring Airlines reports US$61 million Q1 net profit

The carrier’s operating profit for the three months to March 31 was CNY508 million (US$80 million), up sharply from CNY119 million achieved in a year ago. Operating revenue improved 25.6%, to CNY3.23 billion, and costs increased 17.9%, to CNY2.89 billion.
At press time, Spring was flying 78 A320ceo on domestic and regional services. The airline’s Japanese subsidiary, Spring Airlines Japan, flies six B737-800s on domestic routes.
