Jeju Air announces US$33 million first quarter net profit

Popular South Korean budget carrier, Jeju Air, this week reported a first-quarter net profit of KRW36.1 billion (US$33.4 million), up 52% year-on-year supported by a 70% rise in operating profit, to KRW46.2 billion and revenue growth of 29%,to KRW240 billion. Read More »

Jeju Air said revenue improved on its Japanese network by 47% year-on-year after the LCC focused on new services to second-tier cities in Japan. Income on its Southeast Asia network improved 25%. The carrier’s first-quarter load factor was stable at 91.9% with aircraft utilization improved from 13.4 hours to 14.3 hours. Jeju Air operates a fleet of 32 B737NGs.
