The Airbus veteran with the group and its predecessor companies for more than 27 years, he most recently was Airbus Commercial Aircraft CFO for a decade and Airbus Group CFO for the past six years.
Wilhelm will leave alongside Airbus Group CEO, Tom Enders, who announced his departure at the turn of the year. Airbus Commercial Aircraft president, Fabrice Bregier, has already left his post, along with legendary COO for customers, John Leahy, who recently retired aged 67.
“After 18 years at the Airbus finance function, next year will be the right time for me to move on. Until then, I remain committed to the performance of the company and I will work with the management to ensure a smooth transition to the next Airbus CFO,” Wilhelm said.
Airbus Board of Directors chairman, Denis Ranque, also had nothing but praise for Wilhelm. “The Board recognizes the strong contribution made by Harald to the performance of the Company and appreciates his commitment to support an orderly transition. We will now start the search for a successor to the CFO and announcement will be made in due time,” Ranque said.
