MRO: “Due to the low liquidity and the relative underperformance in the trading of HAECO shares, Swire Pacific views the listing of HAECO shares as no longer offering a viable source of funding for HAECO’s businesses, Swire Pacific said in a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange this week. Swire Pacific is offering minority shareholders up to US$382 million to acquire the remaining 25.01% of HAECO that the group needs to privatise the MRO.
Routes: China Eastern Airlines will upgrade Pudong-Cebu from a daily A321 to an A330-300 from July 1 through to August 31. China Southern Airlines will replace an A321 with an A330-200 on the daily Changchun-Incheon route from July 1. Donghai Airlines has launched thrice-weekly Wanzhou-Utapao B737-800 flights. Flydubai has ceased flying to Sri Lanka’s Mattala/Hambantota airport. HK Express will increase Hong Kong-Danang from eight- to eleven-weekly from July 1, Hong Kong-Taichung from eight- to ten-weekly from July 17 and Hong Kong-Osaka from 32- to 33-weekly from September 1. Korean Air will replace the B737-900ER with the A330-200 on the four-weekly Incheon-Cam Ranh route from July 1 through to August 31. Kunming Airlines will launch a four-weekly Kunming-Utapao B737-800 rotation on July 1. Malindo Air will launch daily Kota Kinabalu-Singapore B737-800 flights on July 1. Thai AirAsia will add a thrice-weekly Don Mueang-Kota Kinabalu A320 route from August 2 and a thrice-weekly Chiang Mai-Yangon A320 route from August 11; the airline has started four-weekly Don Mueang-Meixian A320 scheduled charter services on June 1. VietJet Air will launch daily Hanoi-Osaka A320 flights on November 8. XL Airways will add a weekly CDG-Jinan A330-200 service from June 25.
