Code shares: Cathay Pacific Airways and Brussels Airlines have established a code share agreement for passengers travelling between Hong Kong to Brussels and on to Berlin, Hamburg, Lyon, Marseilles, Toulouse, Oslo and Prague. Read More »

Routes: Donghai Airlines will increase Shenzhen-Darwin B737-800 flights from twice- to thrice-weekly beginning August 3. Etihad Airways continues to prune its network; this week the carrier reduced Abu Dhabi-Karachi A320 flights from twice-daily to daily, effective October 15. Hainan Airlines has added a twice-weekly Sanya-Macau B737-800 service. Fiji Airways has launched Nadi-Narita three times a week. AJC Cambodia has started thrice-weekly Phnom Penh-Sanya A320 flights. Lanmei Airlines will start thrice-weekly Siem Reap-Male A319 rotations on July 19. Malindo Air will launch a daily Kuala Lumpur-Labuan B737-800 route from August 2. Philippine Airlines has rostered the A350-900 five-weekly on the Manila-JFK route from October 28, replacing hitherto four-weekly Manila-Vancouver-JFK triangular flights. Qantas Airways will reduce Singapore-Perth from ten-weekly to daily from July 23, but will fly an A330-200 on the route rather than a B737-800. THAI will add a thrice-weekly Phuket-Frankfurt B777-300ER nonstop route from October 28, eliminating the one-stop service via Bangkok; and the airline will increase Bangkok-Vienna B787-8 service from five-weekly to daily from October 30. Tianjin Airlines has launched a thrice-weekly Erenhot-Irkutsk A320 route. VietJet Air will add a daily Cam Ranh-Da Nang A321 service from September 21. Xiamen Air will launch thrice-weekly Fuzhou-Paris B787-8 flights beginning December 11.

Training: Australia’s Diamond Airline Academy has chosen an Alsim AL42 Simulator for its flight school at Moorabbin Airport in Victoria. The academy has a second pilot training facility in Townsville, northern Queensland.
