Biman Bangladesh Airlines orders three Bombardier Q400s

The Dhaka-based airline operates a pair of Q400s on dry-lease from Egypt’s Smart Aviation on domestic routes as well as to Yangon and Kolkata.
Biman will also receive four widebody B787-8s this year, adding to its current fleet of four B737-800s and five B777s.
The airline faces stiff competition from Middle Eastern and privately-held local Bangladeshi carriers. Biman’s long-haul network serves London Heathrow, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Jeddah and Riyadh.
