According to an ATW report, the airline has ordered an unspecified number of COMAC ARJ21s to launch domestic operations early next year.

Separately, Genghis Khan Airlines said it hoped to operate 25 ARJ21s by 2025.

COMAC has received approximately 460 orders for the ARJ21.

The ARJ21 has been in operations with launch customer Chengdu Airlines since 2016, but until now only five aircraft have been delivered.

The vast majority of the customers for the ‘Made in China’ plane are Mainland carriers and leasing firms. Most commitments remain LOIs and MOUs at this stage, rather than firm orders.
