Hong Kong Airlines to swap three A330s for A320s

Hong Kong Airlines will receive three A320s later this year to replace three A330s, the airline confirmed to Orient Aviation, but it did not disclose more details, including if some of its under-utilised A330 fleet would be withdrawn with no replacement.

The A320 swap shows some re-calibration. Restructuring has been difficult while the airline’s shareholders dispute who has control of the airline.

For now the airline is committed to long-haul. Earlier this year it refreshed menus and it is updating its business class amenity kits. The new designs feature Hong Kong artists as the airline seeks to build a more localised identity.
