A Finnair spokesperson has cautioned the airline is still finalising its service plan for Tokyo. This week the carrier said it would commence flights to Tokyo Haneda after Finland received one daytime slot in the recent slot distribution. A Finnair statement said it was “adding capacity to Japan” and would maintain “daily flights” to Narita, implying multiple services into Greater Tokyo.
But later the airline’s inventory showed it would move one of two daily Narita flights to Haneda, creating no new capacity and leaving Narita with only one flight. The spokesperson did not have a timeframe for finalisation of the schedule.
Japan Airlines has received a Haneda slot for Finland. It flies Narita-Helsinki as part of its joint business with Finnair, British Airways and Iberia.
