All Nippon Airways (ANA) will grow in Europe next year by using Tokyo Haneda slots for new flights to Istanbul, Milan, Moscow and Stockholm. ANA was the only Japanese airline awarded slots for Turkey, Italy and Stockholm. Those countries each received one reciprocal slot for their airlines to use.
Japan Airlines (JAL) already serves Moscow. Although not in Europe, ANA also will commence flights to Shenzhen.
While ANA and JAL received equal slots for the U.S. (6), Australia (2) and China (2), in Europe the allocations have starkly diverged. JAL received a slot for Russia. JAL also was granted Finland. JAL will move its Helsinki service from Narita to Haneda. Finnair will do the same because it has received a reciprocal Haneda slot.
