CODE-SHARES: Asiana Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines have expanded their code-sharing to include Addis Ababa to Cape Town, Johannesburg and Mombasa. Read More » Malaysia Airlines will extend its code-share with British Airways from London Heathrow to Lyon, Paris CDG and Toulouse. Thai Smile and Nok Air will code-share, initially between Bangkok Don Mueang-Ranong twice a week, from December 15.
LEASING: Air Lease Corporation has delivered the first of two new A321-200neo on long-term lease to Air Macau, powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1133G engines.
MANUFACTURERS: Airbus has acquired U.S. company, MTM Robotics, based near Seattle, Washington, for an undisclosed sum. MTM will operate as a 100% subsidiary of Airbus Americas Inc., but it will continue to serve third party customers. Embraer’s E175-E2 jet has completed its maiden flight from Embraer’s facility in Sao Jose Dos Campos in Brazil.
ROUTES: China Southern Airlines will resume Guangzhou-Tokyo Narita from next month four times a week. China Express will fly Chongqing-Luang Prabang weekly and Chongqing-Vientiane twice a week from the third week of this month. OK Airways has added Changsha-Linyi and to Osaka from last week. Philippine Airlines will resume Manila-Perth four times a week from March 30. Qantas Airways will add its seventh flight each week between Sydney and Fort Worth Dallas with an A380 and Brisbane- Chicago O’Hare with 787-9s four times a week on April 15. Tigerair Taiwan will launch its 15th Japanese destination, Taipei-Nigita, twice a week. Vietjet will increase its Korea network with the addition of Da Lat-Seoul four times a week from January 15 and an increase to daily services between Seoul and Phu Quoc.
